relax buddy!!! I'm trying to be civilized here so no need for those type of remarks!
I'm making excuses? For what?
Manny has entered Floyd's territory. Floyd has been in this division for 5 years. Floyd is bigger. This is the more natural weight for Floyd. So Floyd is favored but just like Delahoya was favored, it wasn't because DelaHoya was FOTD nor FOTY for 2007 (year before the fight)
You can be #1 P4P but doesn't mean that you automatically can beat #2 P4P. If Manny stayed in the lower weight classes because he thinks he can't maintain 147 effectively BUT destroys those in divisions below that and looks like a #1 P4P then he can still remain #1P4P in people's eyes. Depending on people's opinions of Manny.
Another example to make it more clearer. If Roy Jones Jr is considered #1 P4P and Floyd was #2 P4P. Does Floyd have to beat Roy Jones Jr to get the title to be #1 P4P? Obviously no! What happens is Roy Jones Jr loses or is in the decline while Floyd proves to be #1 P4P.
I'm sure Manny will lose his #1 P4P if he loses the fight to Floyd in a bad way. Until then people's opinion still think Manny is #1P4P
You say that people like to say Manny is the best in the welterweight division. For me it's all opinions being thrown around. Until Floyd vs Manny happens, you can't really say one way or the other.
Giving the edge to Floyd does NOT change the fact that Manny was FOTY and FOTD.
