Arguello wouldn't handle the speed well enough to win, though he could land the giant right and end the fight anytime. It wouldn't be horribly one sided or anything, but Mayweather at 130 did it all.

Mayweather has the clear stylistical edge over Arguello, but Arguello was a difficult man to beat in a 15 round fight. Floyd has to be on his toes at all times.

Young Arguello was beaten by Ernesto Marcel who bears some stylistical resemblance to Mayweather with his lead right hands and slick boxing. A more experienced Arguello may have gotten Marcel out of there though.

Arguello is better than anyone Mayweather ever faced.

Please Please don't post in this thread if you don't know who Alexis Arguello is. This would be too close, the ONLY reason I give Floyd the edge is because I have seen Arguello outboxed before and Floyd is as good as it gets when it comes to boxing skill.

I have SO much respect for Arguello. He was a killer at 130. But like Skills said, I've seen him outboxed before. If you can be outboxed, Mayweather will outbox you.

yea thats true, but at 130, floyd wasnt exactly the boxer he is now. he did brawl sumtimes. if arguello is able to coax a lesser focused floyd into a brawl, he has a shot.

I'll go with Mayweather by decision....

Arguello would have the height advantage, but Floyd would be able to dictate the fight....
