Comments Thread For: Martinez Rematch Downed, Margarito on Hold For Pacquiao

BoxingScene.com was advised that promoter Lou DiBella reached out to Top Rank to make a rematch between WBC/WBO middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and Antonio Margarito. Top Rank called him back and turned the fight down, for now. Margarito has been placed on hold for a possible fight with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao in November. Martinez avenging the Margarito loss would be like Pac trying to avenge the Singsurat loss.

      All I'm asking is, why?

Tony better be having another fight during the summer before fighting either of these guys even though he looked good there is a huge difference between Pacquaio/Martinez and Garcia

                    no it's not

Margarito is still a big name and he has achieved things after he beat Martinez (there is a question mark over it, but...), so it would be relevant for Martinez to avenge this loss now

I don't know that Singsurat is still an active and relevant fighter, that's the difference

I fully support Martinez in his attempt at getting revenge

when Floyd-Pacquiao gets made, Margarito won't have nowhere to run, Martinez will rematch and beat him bad
