I think most would say YES, and yet there are still people using the Marquez fight as basis to say that Pacquiao has trouble against counterpunchers, and therefore Mayweather should beat him easily. Like Pac never improved? C'mon now. We know Mayweather is great, but we also know southpaws have given him fits.

He would not have destroyed him, no way. That Marquez was too good to be destroyed by anyone. Pac would have won without any of the dispute we see now though.

That's a good question. I think the Pac (of now) would beat Marquez (then). IMO Marquez (then) didn't look AS comfortable as Pac (of now). Maybe it's age...too many variables...but it's hard to imagine the Pac (of now) that has been crushing his competition would have any problems with Marquez (in my mind is a bit slower or methodical). Whereas Pac has this blitzkrieg(sp) fighting style that doesn't allow the fighter to think. But then again...Marquez has TWICE deflated the Pac balloon.

It's a tough question, I like Maquez but Pac (of now) is very comfortable.

It's a style thing, Pacquiao will always struggle against Marquez.

If some one were to beat Pacquiao this year, 2 years from now pac fans would say that current Pac of 2012 would destroy who ever beat him back in 2010.

Back in 2008, people including Pac's team were saying Pac was going to stop Marquez because Pac was new and improved from 4 years ago.

I get what you all are saying about Manny improving and I don't disagree. But how much can you say Manny really improved if you have not seen him fight a fighter with the style that gives him the most problems. I feel you can't because since then Manny has not faced ONE fighter that brings that skill set to the ring. Also Roach said counter punchers will always Manny problems.

Marquez would always give pacquiao problems because of his ring intelligence, he can adapt and knows about every trick in the book. He gets hit too much against great opposition though which is why pac was able to put him on his ass 4 times

Pac has yet to show the improvements against a counter puncher. He started to look brilliant after the JMM 2 fight, against Diaz, De La Hoya, Hatton and Clottey... none of which presented the stylistic problems that Marquez did. Not to take away from the wins - just the styles suited Pac more than Marquez'

So, although Pac has improved, we haven't seen him against a counter puncher since then, and there's nothing to prove his offensive arsenal will look the same against someone like Mayweather or Marquez...

So you're saying Pacquiao's style hasn't changed? You haven't noticed that he's more patient now, his timing and foot work got better, and how his overall boxing skills have improved? You don't see any of those? This Pacquiao would destroy his old self easily.
