How the hell did De La Hoya take Pacquiao's punches?

Looking back at that fight, how the hell was De La Hoya able to take Pac's best punches for 7 without falling, wobbling all over the place or looking like he was in serious trouble? The guy was a zombie. His legs must have been ridiculously gone that night. Was it because he has an amazing chin, or was Pac's power gone since he had just moved up two weight divisions for the first time?

Pac was a blown up light weight at the time.

DLH also had a great chin.

DLH has an ATG chin. Pac also wasnt loading up on his punches he just threw a ton of them.

It wasn't loading up/sitting down on his punches. I think if DLH came out in the 9th round we would have seen KD or TKO stoppage.

FWIW DLH has a great chin so there wouldn't have been a KO. Maybe a knockdown, and I think if Oscar came out Pac would have sat down on his punches and dropped him....leading to a TKO stoppage.

Pac was not sitting on his punches. Pac had so much respect for Oscar's power that he was very cautiuos of it. And add the fact that Oscar's chin is titanium.
