Looking back at that fight, how the hell was De La Hoya able to take Pac's best punches for 7 without falling, wobbling all over the place or looking like he was in serious trouble? The guy was a zombie. His legs must have been ridiculously gone that night. Was it because he has an amazing chin, or was Pac's power gone since he had just moved up two weight divisions for the first time?
FWIW DLH has a great chin so there wouldn't have been a KO. Maybe a knockdown, and I think if Oscar came out Pac would have sat down on his punches and dropped him....leading to a TKO stoppage.
Pac was not sitting on his punches. Pac had so much respect for Oscar's power that he was very cautiuos of it. And add the fact that Oscar's chin is titanium.
Pac was holding back his punches. Oscar is his idol so he respects Oscar so much. Roach even told Pac that he should not hesitate and its his job to KO Oscar. When Pac said OK I'll KO him this time, Oscar quit.
Im shocked he did aswell sure he has an atg chin but the guy weighed in at 147 at the weigh in and weighed the same at fight night, i dunno wtf he thought he was doing.
