.....Manny or Floyd.
For me, its an easy choice, I have Pac at #1. For some pretty simple reasons, I like a P4P list that is updated frequently and looks at recent accomplishments more so over past accomplishments, which is usually the case, though bhop and mosley stayed on the list and I would have bumped at least one of them off for inactivity. Floyd's victory over Shane was impressive but so were Manny's over Clottey and Cotto. Floyd retired as a WW and then came back and fought a lightweight and then Mosley. I hated the Marquez fight because of the size difference but still, two good wins. However, when you look at the fact that when Floyd retired, Manny was fighting at 130 and since then has badly beaten David Diaz, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and Oscar. He proved those guys are not in the same league as him. Floyd has done that as well, and you can say stuff about Pac's opponents that will make the win seem less impressive like ricky already being ko'd (maybe his most impressive win was over paulie, after the floyd fight) or oscar's weight (which of course was an issue, manny was coming from 135 to 147 though). You can do the same with Floyd's wins though too, Shane was inactive and old, JMM was coming up to a weight no one ever expected him to fight at against a guy that didn't make weight. So it goes both ways. For me, it comes down to Manny in the last couple years, has more wins, all in impressive fashion, and was the smaller opponent going in to every single one of those fights. and in the sense of P4P status, that is why I would have Manny at #1.
I am not saying Manny beats Floyd, or is better, I think he is, but that really has nothing to do with the debate over who is #1 until they do fight. Its who has the more impressive accomplishments of recent.
What do you guys think?
