I'm a fan of Pacquiao, but other fans need to realize something.

Every time there is a hypothetical matchup involving Pacquiao, a lot of people start the "Pac always loses the fantasy matchups" stuff, which is true. There's a reason for that though, and it is the transformation of Pacquiao as a fighter.

It is truly a tough situation, at 122-130, Pac was a left hand dependent slugger lacking many of the skills he now has, so many of those more complete fighters would beat him, due to that.

At 147 he loses a LOT of those fantasy fights because he is simply too small for the style he fights to beat many of those greats.

If Pac at 126 had the skills he has now, people would be picking him. If we were talking Pac P4P against Tito Trinidad, we'd be picking Pacquiao. But that's not reality.

I would pick Pac against almost anyone at 140, against many fighters at 135, but he faces extremely tough matchups either stylistically, physically, or both at all his other weights. Rant over.

I basically said the same thing. I tried to explain to people that is not a matter of "hating" on him its the style clashes.

While I agree with what you said...look at who he was able to beat at those weights while being as limited as he was.

Fact of the matter is he was a monster at those weights. Sure he'd have some major trouble with any ATG at that weight but he was very sucessful at surprising the **** out of some damn good fighters even though he was far from complete.

I agree with that but his fan base becomes so defensive when no one thinks he beast Pep, Sanchez, Hamed etc...

If you took the Pac now. and Put him at 126-130 then yeah hed light some people up.

The real truth is, most didn't even know who Salvador Sanchez was.

Pep and Sanchez are out of his reach but c'mon Naz is beatable by even the limited Pac.

People don't give Pac credit in fantasy fights because he is such a flawed fighter but the dude was a monster. Very few could hang with his combination of speed, power, tenacity and heart. Dude was just plain ****ing raw.

I agree. Pac at Featherweight was pretty beatable. I honestly wouldn't have been surprised if he and a prime Chris John went to war (Pac would definitely win though). But even as limited as he was, he knew how to get the job done against the guys who they threw in front of him (aside from Marquez).

But if you throw a Featherweight version of the Pac who fought Cotto in against even a prime Marquez, that fight wouldn't make it past the third round.

He was a monster, and that's why he is even involved in fantasy fights. He would probably lose to the best though, nothing wrong with that.

And I completely agree that Pac would beat Hamed.
