I paid 54.99 + taxes to see the Stadium! It was worth it tho...I saw 4 big screens on my big screen TV.

Pacquiao nut huggers even said this such as Dan Rafael and the people who actually put the event together Bob Arum and Jerry Jones.

        The reason?

Arum also explained it good here:

This writer summarizes it pretty well, the stadium intrigued people and Jones, Arum, HBO knew this, they even had Max give a tour.
The super welterweight boxing fight known as “The Event” took place this past Saturday night, and it starred the No. 1 pound for pound WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao taking on Joshua Clottey...

In a way, it should have been called Cowboys Stadium vs Pacquiao because the stadium itself was the main attraction. Facility comes 1st, Pacquiao 2nd.

Another thing that brought the people out was a major fight paying a rare visit to Texas

I gotta agree, I remember when i was watching the directv prefight breakdown that they just repeat over and over, they spent about as much time talking about the stadium(& it's giant hd screen) as they did about the fight.

when the venue is a bigger deal than your opponent, that's when you know that you're the only one pulling in the PPVs

It wasn't "that" big of a deal! It was a promotional tool yes but it wasn't anything more than that. The PPV would of done exactly the same had it been held in Vegas.

Why do you think Max Kellerman was giving tours of the stadium during the PPV broadcast. Because that stadium was a big deal.

All the Pac fans made COUNTLESS threads about that stadium and now its no biggie.

                    lol.

Yes. People showed up to Cowboys Stadium in droves. Nobody is buying a fight to see a stadium though. You're either interested in the fight or youre not.
