Also what I meant was that different fighters with different qualities react to situations different. Paul Williams has never shown the ability of Mayweather to adapt. Kermit Cintron doesnt have the skill level of Zab Judah either. So the parallell falls flat on its arse. Good try though. Really. Gold star.
Paul Williams has never shown the ability to adapt?

    Lord have mercy.

I don't think he is proven enough yet. I'm not sold that Paul is the real thing yet. Loss to Quintana a loss to a Martinez who had only two weeks training camp loss to Cintron does not prove himself to me. Close fight with Margarito was a good win though.

I agree with having him at #3 and I know people will accuse me of being biased when it aint like that at all. You name me another fighter with a better resume than his besides Pacquiao and Mayweather. Dawson's resume is close. But he is too inactive and he too got a gift decision against an old guy regardless of what happened in the rematch. The last four of Paul's opponents have been ranked in the top five of their divisions at the time he fought them.

Even though I agree with his spot for now I wasn't too impressed with his performance over Cintron either. But someone is gonna have to beat him in order to take his spot. The only guy that people brought up in this thread that was an honorable mention to be ranked over him was Dawson. At least that's somewhat debatable to me. But having guys like JMM, Donaire, Martinez, and Cotto ranked over Paul Williams? I don't see it.

His resume consists of a close win over Margarito. Getting outboxed by Quintana. Knocking him out in a rematch. Then getting outboxed by Martinez. Then being outboxed for 4 rounds against Cintron.

Dont get me started on his skill level.

              Let stick with the facts.

He beat Marg, Quintana in the rematch, Winky, Martinez and Cintron.

Who cares about skills. How skilled was Aaron Pryor?

ESPN seems to base their poll position on the fact that Williams can beat anyone within the 147-160 range.

Now I'm not saying that this would or wouldn't happen, but you have to actually fight at 147 in order for this to be believable.

Never said they had to be Mayweather.
