    For somewhat legitimate reasons.

Even though Pavlik did neglect to treat himself right away.

So maybe it was ego. But I would have been pissed off too.

    But I digress.

Martinez is gonna get it in the rematch and PW reign will begin.
Sometimes you gotta accept a lotta **** to get to the top. Bernard Hopkins and Joe Calzaghe didnt get recognition till their late 30s. Williams is in his 20s and has beaten no one of note at Middleweight, has no title, no name, isnt a draw etc yet he thinks he deserves half the pot against Pavlik who is all of those things.

Sergio took the short end of the deal against Pavlik and look where he is now. Potentially on the cusp of fighting Mayweather.

Oh and if Sergio decides to rematch Paul, he knocks his lanky ass out this time.

That's dumb. He needs to settle the Martinez fight first. Until then I still have Hopkins ahead of him. Even Cotto's done more then Martinez accomplishment wise, I don't know about a fight though. Im just going by accomplishments. Paul is a beast, but still needs to prove himself to be a top 3 P4P.

Yes it is bad if your fan base is next to nothing. Did you see how empty the Arena was when he fought Cintron? There were so few people the fight could of been held at a VFW hall and still not sold out.

Number 3 seems a bit high to me and so does Dan haha. I've only seen Williams fight a couple times and to be honest I haven't been impressed. Martinez won a clear decison in my eyes and was catching him over the top all night. The way he crouches down to jab is a HUGE flaw which he did again against Cintron. I think Kermit coulda stopped him if he hadn't fell out of the ring

I have Paul Williams ranked #3 as well.

Who else deserves #3 over Paul?

JMM? He lost his last fight.
Cotto? When is the last time he won a meaningful fight?
Mosley? Floyd destroyed him and before that he was inactive.
Dawson? He needs to beat someone outside of Tarver and Johnson.
                  Martinez? Williams beat him already.

IMO, Paul Williams solidified his spot as #3 pound for pound when a combination of things happened:

He defeats Sergio Martinez and Kermit Cintron in back-to-back fights. In the meantime Shane Mosley and JMM are destroyed by the #1 pound for pound guy.

Paul deserves his spot. He beats fighters when they're sizzling hot (martinez, cintron, margarito) and not weight drained, old, etc...

you mean if he hadn't dove out of the ring by his own volition.

Both of those "wins" are very questionable. The 3rd best boxer in the world shouldnt get outboxed by Kermit Cintron.
