Comments Thread For: Mike Perez is Ready To Be A "Somebody"

By Ryan ******** - Lightweight prospect Michael Perez is closing in on his first TV appearance as a professional boxer this Friday at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, NY. His opponent, like him, is undefeated. Francisco Reyes of Seattle, Washington is 5-0 (2 KO) and goes by the nickname of "El Elegante". All of that information was compiled using Boxrec; Perez knows little more than I do about his opponent. [Click Here To Read More]

Mike Perez has what It takes. I've boxed at the same gym he's from in Newark/Irvington. He'll be good and he's signed to GBP.

I don't know why his cousin Alex hasn't boxed in about a year. Hes a southpaw at 154. Could be very nice.

Red Brick? That gym is really nice. I remember when it used to be the Mecca of heavyweight boxing in the Northeast with guys like Monte Barrett, Faruq Saleem and Mo Harris.

I spoke with one of Alex's guys last night, he says that they are trying to get something secured. He is tentatively scheduled to face Terrence Cauthen next month but it's not a good fight IMO for where he is now.

I've been watching Alex for a long time, he has the goods but has to be active.
