How does Guillermo Jones still have a world title?

Why hasn't he defended his title and if he has not for such a long time is the WBA ever going to strip him?

I think 9 months should be a max for a title holder not to defend unless injury or some other uncontrolable circumstance occurs.

He had wait a couple years for his opportunity after winning a title elimination bout. Perhaps he's getting a break for that. Too bad too because after finally winning a title he's wasting the best years.

Because he's a Don King fighter. Chagaev was stripped for BS reasons, and they gave his belt to a Don King fighter (Valuev). Guillermo Jones does not have to worry about such things since he has Don King behind him.

So he can just be champ for going on 2 years and not fight at all?

He is holding the strap hostage and unlike alot of posters I like the ABC belts because they give many unknown fighters from obscure places notoriety that they would not otherwise get without a strap.

Its entirely possible that right now because he has not made a defense, some good fighter somewhere in the world who we may not know of is not getting recognition because of this hostage situation.

Yes, he has already been inactive for 20 months and they haven't stripped him, 4 months more and it'll be 2 years. That's what happens when you have corrupt promoters and corrupt organizations.
