You do know that the 50 bucks spent on ppv is divided right? You do know how the profits are shared right?Originally posted by DE100Around there, It was Reported by CNN that he was set to earn $58.5 million IF it could reach 2 Million. So 40 Million for 1.4 sounds about right.
50% go to the cable/satellite company
50% go to the promoters.
Floyd gets what left of that 50% from golden boy. I bet my life he didnt pocket no $40 million.Comment

My man, thats apples & oranges. Trust me when I tell you that Im not a hater. Im the guy that everyone gets mad at because Im always defending atheletes for getting big money or wanting money. I dont like it when fans get mad and say they make too much or that "I only make $9 an hour so I dont want to hear them cry". That **** is just hate. Still, why do I care if Floyd is getting 40mil? I dont. I want to see him fight. If he's successful in life then thats a good thing but if he made only 40 bucks, I would still be a fan of his fighting. I care about seeing Floyd vs Pac or Martinez, not how much money he made.
All that stuff about it being good for the sport may be true but my point is that I like the sport itself. The money is just a side bar. The same with the other sports you talked about. I like watching football & basketball. I could care less what the guys make playing it. You can have a debate when a guys contract comes up on how much he is worth but its no big deal to me if Floyd pocketed 40mil, 60mil or 20mil. He wont be starving either way and if he is then its his fault. Now, if any of the money somehow trickles down to my pocket then thats when I will worry about it.
I mean, the way I feel about it is that I dont care about what Floyd makes anymore than I care about what you make. Why should I? You do you and Ill do me. I just want to watch Floyd fight. The money he makes effects me in no wayComment

I'm not saying you should necessarily care what Floyd makes, just that you should care what BOXERS make.My man, thats apples & oranges. Trust me when I tell you that Im not a hater. The more money that is in boxing the more incentive there is for the best young athletic talent to pursue it for a career, and therefore the higher the standard of fighters that will come through in the future.
You say you don't care if Floyd earns $40, but if the top fighters made $40, the top fighters would be pretty ****house.
These earnings that Manny, Floyd and Oscar have been putting up these past few years are good for our sport. I'm sick of the "who gives a ****, I won't be getting any of it" stance. Its totally ignorant.Comment
