This is exactly why Sergio Martinez is one of my favorite boxers right now. He's willing to fight whoever, whenever. And he speaks honestly and to the point.

Too much risk and not enough reward for this fight to happen for floyd. Martinez is still a relative unknown to most people. Floyd would probably earn more for fighting Paul Williams than Martinez.
This would have been a stiff test for PBF I think, given Sergio's style. As much as I want to see this fight I can't see it happening. If it does happen, I'd be surprised if the PPV exceeded 750K.

No one on this planet has ever had Pauli Malignaggi in their top 10 p4p besides you.
Props to Martinez for fighting the best and continuing to want to do so. It's too bad that he's 35 and we won't get to see much more of him at his best, that he was ducked by people like Forrest and Oscar and should've gotten his recognition much sooner.
Martinez and Williams have the best chance of anyone out there of giving Floyd a great challenge and possibly beating him. If the Pac fight doesn't come off, I hope Floyd fights one of them.

I disagree no ceilings! Can't see martinez doing big business. if they do fight im thinking its perfect for regular TV. With a great undercard it could create some new guys once floyd and pac retire.

JMM is mexican. Mexican fans tend to purchase ppvs in large numbers. I beive Martinexz is from argentina or colombia. Not 100% sure.
Would the mexican fanbase support this fight?

Floyd has proven to the world he doesn't need a dance partner to sell over a million. He can do a million with Martinez.

Manny's the single boxer in the world who doesn't NEED Mayweather in his resume or win column...financially, for legacy, popularity or otherwise.
Same could be said vice versa.
Everyone else sees their career highest payday from fighting Mayweather.

And no, you aren't supposed to get away with having your hands DOWN against sluggers, in fact that's probably the last thing you would want to do. Imagine trying to fight the mandingo warrior with your hands down... LOL.

Mayweather is the master of NOT being hit...Sergio is fast but hes not as fast as Floyd is.
Mayweather would beat him to the punch all night and make him pay for fighting with his hands low.
Martinez also has bad stamina.....and after about 9 rounds of Chasing Floyd around, getting clinched and hitting air..hell be past tired.

Just because had success against a guy like Williams who struggle with southpaws and didn't have a good game plan or strategy doesn't mean he stands a chance in hell vs. Mayweather.
Mayweather EASY UD...............9 Rounds to 3.
Let's also not forget that PBF isn't impervious to southpaws. He's had his own troubles dealing with them in the past. Sure he eventually overcame them, but the fact that he struggled against them at some point during the fight means that he isn't impervious against them.
If this fight was at 147 I'd favor PBF, but if this fight is made at 154 and up I like Sergio's chances. And I'll probably be putting money on him considering he would be the vast underdog in the fight. Be as it may, this fight isn't happening for the simple fact that Martinez doesn't draw enough people for floyd to make any cheddar off of.
