I think he's taking it hard. You go back through history and whenever a great fighter gets beat bad for the 1st time, it takes awhile for them to get through the shock of it. You can tell in the JMM post fight thing and in all the interviews before this fight that Shane just knew he was too big & strong for Floyd. He just knew he had too much experince and fought the much bigger & better guys. He just knew he would have more power and that Floyd will have never seen anything like his speed.

So when your mind is thinking all of that and then you get dominated, you have to take time to regroup. Now he's probably wondering what it all meant and what he should do next. Is Floyd just that good, was I overtrained, am I old now, should I retire, can I still beat the elite, was it just a hiccup, what type of guy should I fight next if I want to go on, do I want a tuneup or a mega fight, and so on

I'm not sure it would have been that much of a shock to him.

I'm sure he went in there thinking he was going to win, but I'm also sure he knew that what went down was a distinct possibility.

Shane has one or two more good fights in him. I would like to see him beat up Berto.

shane has 5 losses d. he also knows he's 38 going on 39 & 1 year & 5 months off his last fight. shane is in the same boat as marquez. just trying to fight for money before they cant fight anymore especially shane who just got divorced from jin. they are fighting for retirement money. shane knew he basically only has a punchers chance vs floyd or pac. i dont think he's too distraught.

I agree with this I think. I think Shane thought he would win, but I don't think he would have been surprised to lose in the fashion in which he did.

                  exactly.

it aint like shane is 30 years old, undefeated & on a 20 fight winning streak then all of a sudden got dominated by floyd. that aint the case, that aint his mentality.

Im pretty sure shane was prepared for a loss & his frame of mind is in that same place.

Yeah. You know I think you're a **** and all but I think you are right on with this.

Shane knew this was a tough ask when he took this fight. He certainly wasn't going in thinking he was just going to walk him down and there was no way he was going to lose. Add to that the fact that he has suffered clear losses in the past, and there is no way he is "in a state of shock" or whatever.
