Comments Thread For: Nate Campbell: The Underdog One More Time

By Cliff Rold - Beginning his eleventh year as a professional, former unified Lightweight titlist Nate Campbell (33-5-1, 25 KO) can look back on a career which, in the best sense of the word, has been professional. The beginning of his narrative is well told. Campbell came late to the sport, turning pro in his later 20s without a lengthy amateur run. He fought in nightclubs and deep on undercards, into contention, and ultimately through the highs and lows of world title losses and wins.

It’s not been the path of a superstar, but it’s been an honest run worthy of envy from the hundreds of fighters who started in similar places and never made it as far. Nate Campbell holds his fate in his own hands this weekend as he tries to extend that run. [Click Here To Read More]

Nate is a bum and bradley proved that. Ortiz is still a good talent just needs a heart to fight thru tough spots. Ortiz would beat most of the talents at 140 like khan paulie petterson but would loose to bradley devon and maidana but would put up the best fight againts any of them than any body else would.

because bradley won a controversial headbutt decision against him that makes him a bum? LOL

I wouldn't be surprised if Campbell gets a W over Ortiz. I think Ortiz lost more than fan's against Maidana. To top it off, Ortiz' foot work is awful in the ring. He can't really throw more than two punches without losing leverage, or without tripping over his own feet. He also leaves his head straight up after he throws those combinations. But he does have that natural raw power. One loaded hook or straight left from Ortiz and Campbell will probably be put to sleep.

Oh, I think it will be the other way around as Ortiz other than experience has the edge in all other areas. Faster, stronger, younger, taller, more diverse skill set in my estimation.
