Whats the big deal with cotto. Yes he is better than a good portion of fighters out there, but he is nowhere near the top of his division. He has to contend with fighters like Hatton, tszyu, Mayweather, and gatti. Its not that i think he over hyped but what is all the hype for My personal nickname for him is Miguel "The over hyped, hi im only being noticed because puerto ricans need some body to love cause "tito" got his ass "el beato" by "el negro" Cotto

Cotto's a very talented fighter, i prefered him a lot more when he was a bit quicker, he's seems to be putting on a bit too much weight which is effecting his whole style(especially his power).
There's too many punchers at 140 and Cotto backs up to much, he's lossing his speed which exposes weakness in his defence, i'm a bit pissed off because i thought he could become an elite fighter. if he gets in with any of the top 5 at 140 i wouldnt bet on him. -

i was expecting to see more power from him against the hittable abdulaev.
he's going to have to improve on his boxing skills immensely if he's going to make it at 147 against skilled boxers like mosley and judah. and his 67" reach aint going to help.Comment

Abdulaev is not easily "hittable", he has a great defense much like cotto, cotto boxed brilliantly and made the necessary changes during the fight. I feel he is top 5 at light welter right now and I really think he'll be #1 eventually.Originally posted by steelheadand the talk of him going up to 147 because of weight issues.

i was looking for cotto to have an easier time and wanted to see all this power his fans say he has.
i put cotto in the top ten at 140. he needs to work more before tackling the champs and top contenders at 140. a corrales/cotto at 140 would prove a lot. mostly for corrales because i feel it would be an easy tune up for him to announce" im here at 140". and if cotto got lucky and wins it will be a wakeup call to the beltholders that he has to be delt with.Comment
