Comments Thread For: Gato Predicts: "Nate Campbell Will Beat Victor Ortiz"

Boxingscene reached out to junior welterweight contender Frankie "Gato" to get his thoughts on Saturday's clash between Victor Ortiz and Nate Campbell. Figueroa has been training and sparring with Campbell. "Nate is in great shape vicious and hungry to make a statement. With me preparing him he is at the top of his game mentally and physically.". Both men have been going at it with ferocity in camp. Figueroa has a fight lined up on May 21st versus unbeaten prospect Ruslan Provodnikov."

Yea, I think Nate has some tricks up his sleeves. Everyone thought Juan Diaz was going to own him but Nate beat him around the ring. My brain says Victor will win but my heart says Nate.

Go with your heart. Nate has one mean body attack, neither does Ortiz set a very high pace; sort of like Bradley. Won't be rooting for either though, may the best man win.

Bradley was killing him. We'll all get to see Campbell off to retirement.

Ortiz is is now like a post Brewster Wladdy. He will use his jab and athleticism to keep Nate at bay and tie up like a scared puppy when Nate gets inside.

I expect a ud from Ortiz in a tactical fight.

unlike wlad, ortiz can fight from either distance, but its obvious he was working on becoming a more technical fighter.
i do expect a more tactical fight as well though....a tactical beatdown.

Well Victor Ortiz is friend of mines on the real thats easy for him to say Nate Campbell is blah blah blah. All i gotta say is Nate Campbell better show up if not he's getting knocked out. It should be a exciting fight. I got Ortiz winning by Stopping Campbell.
