What fights did you want your fav fighter to win more than any other?
i wanted klitschko to KO lewis

i wanted Juio ceasar chavez to KO De La Hoya

I wanted Jones to KO Tarver for the **** talkin

I wanted Tyson to beat anyone

I want Mayweather to Win by UD over gatti

I really want Taylor to Take hopkins into the 10th round and floor him twice, the second of which sends hopkins to the canvas hard. 1............2...........3...........4............ 5.....hopkins reaches for the rope while trying to get his mouth piece.......6........7........looking dazed he tries to stand up right.............8........9....still on one knee, hopkins looks at taylor, and for that split second everyone realizes that hopkins is acknowleding that he is a beaten man............10....It's over... taylor being the man that he is, walks up to hopkins and and places his hands on his gloves and thanks him for being a great champion and for giving him the opportunity to fight for the title. He then extends an offer for a rematch to which hopkins naturally agrees to.
Two months later hopkins decides to announce his retirment. Slowly he fades out of the lime light. Then two years later Bernard Hopkins joins the crew of HBO boxing. With his ability to verbally exchange with other men he will make for a great announcer. Maybe hell work with roy jones.

I know you must be a hardcore Chavez fan and not too upset you or anything but I think that JL is tougher than Chavez...I loved to watch JC Superstar fight but I think he was a closet ***** and he showed the kind of heart he had when the going got tough later in his career against Frankie Randall and against Oscar.

Plus the man could never admit defeat...I am still pissed off over how Chavez handled his fights with Frankie Randall both inside and outside of the ring...in my eyes he stained himself forever but few remember the classless manner in which JC handled himself.

I want Mayweather to completely dominate and destroy Gatti and show the world what he is capable of.

I want Hopkins to beat Jermain Taylor, so he can retire as one of the greatest Middleweights ever.

I was a fan of Chavez and im not blind, I agree with you.He had lost him humbleness that I loved when he was in his prime. Did you ever see the Martinez fight? That is the Chaves I liked. He had tons of those in his prime.Don King spoiled his ass. After a while he started acting a lke a little kid. after that Frankie fight I guess he was going threw a tough time with the Mexican Gov. trying to take his money and ****.JLC on the other hand hasnt lost his humbleness he is still very honest with himself and his fans. I cant pick who the tougher of the 2 is or was,Chavez was well past his prime when he fight ODH, I asure you wouldnt have quit if he was the well conditioned monster I grew up watching. The Randall fight was the beginning of the end for Chavez, no way Randall goes the distance with a prime Chavez.
What people cant understand is that Chavez had so many tough fights even in Mexico which most people here call bums. Mexico is full of very tough fighters, they dont have a macho reputation for nothing. We will never see a guy like this in our lives, todays fighters want to retire after 40 fights. Its all about money now a days and not for the love of the sport.See all these guys calling out each other cause of all the millions they can make not to prove they are better.Sure they say it but dont mean it. How many guys are calling out ODH now? I didnt hear all this when he was in his prime.
Jose Luis Castillo is a gem, he still fights for the love of the sport and to prove he wants to be recognized as the best. You could pay him 50 cents and a ****ing cd and he fight Corales again with any thought.

                    Pretty well said...

My first recollection of JC was his fight with Roger Mayweather, I did not miss many of his fights past that point...Im 26 so my recollection is blurry of many of his fights but I was always very excited to watch him beause I would look at his record and figure he was unbetable-my Uncle lived a few houses down from me and taught me at a very young age to love the sport and it just seemed like at the time if you loved boxing then you loved Julio Ceasar Chavez. Like you said it was not until pat his prime did I begin to develop a real dislike for him (started with Whitaker, obviously-Randall put me over the edge).

I have the Mayweather and Rosario fights on tape and it has been a while since I have watched them-I will have to pull them out and watch them again. His beating of Camacho was priceless although I was very upset that he did not stop HEctor...I wanted his ass KTFO!

As for Comparing tougness betrween JL and JC, well that is impossible to do but I just have this feeling when I watch JL that he is a one of a kind and I thnk his statements directly after the Corrales fight as well as his amazing schedule before that fight atest too that one of the kind fighter.

Maybe my favorite memory of JC was when he was a little past his prime but still an ass kicker...he fought Greg Haugen in Azteca Stadium (130K in attendance-Haugen if he someone would have pulled the upset would have never made it out alive) and Haugen is from Auburn Washington which is just a few miles from where I live.

HAugen insulted Chavez to know end and he deserved every bit of the beat down he recieved...Haugen was a tough tough guy but his words leading up to the fight he could not take back and I believe that JC finished him much sooner than he would have if Haugen would have shut his mouth and just fought.

Anyways, thatnks for the enlightneing...by the way Meldrick Taylor earned the right to finish the 12th.
