Is anyone disappointed with the way GBP is handling Ouma?

I noticed that he will be fighting Karmazin July. Now Golden Boy jumped in and signed this fighter and they are completely not using him right.

Kassim is a legit champion at 154 and yet he is being showcased on HBO Latino.

Is anyone angered at this? I am GBP is putting on a ppv 2 days later. Why isnt Kassim on the Hopkins undercard? Perhaps it would generate more ppv purchases as HBO loves the story of Ouma and could have hyped it up right along with the main event.

    Instead we get:

Bernard Hopkins vs Jermain Taylor (IBF/WBC/WBA/WBO 160)
Oscar 'Chololo' Larios vs Wayne McCullough (WBC 122)
Fernando Montiel vs Eric Morel (WBO 115)
    Vernon Forrest vs TBA (154)

Easily Ouma could and should have been added to that or atleast take one away.

GBP has a horrible team, if this is the future of boxing promotions. Thumbs down my friend and thumbs up your asses, thumbs up your asses.

I agree Ouma should be on the undercard.

He should fight Ike Quartey, that's the biggest fight for him right now, and he will win that one too!

No HBO Latino on my area's directv package, so it's fair to say I'm disappointed...

Montiel was dominated by Mark Johnson in 2003, I do believe.

you guys need a little lesson in a thing called MARKETING....

by having an HBO Latino show featuring Ouma v. Karmazin 2 days before the big PPV, it gives the fans a little slice of the action for free, right before the $50 show, and it gives HBO and GBP a chance to pump-up the pay-per-view with some highlight clips and interviews of B-Hop, Taylor, Montiel, Forrest, etc.

This is just proper boxing marketing, kudos to GBP for knowing the biz

I agree with you...Golden Boy will be able to market the fight right to the hsiapnic audience and it most likely will pay off when the numbers come in not too mention down the road for Ouma as well.

It is way to early to say how GBP is handling Ouma **** give them a break he has been under contract for about a minute and a half...just wait!

I think that defense against Karmazin was scheduled before Hopkins-Taylor was scheduled.

But still, Oscar could manage that better.
