bad news for pavlik fans i honestly dont see him beating any of the top guys at 168 and i think 175 is too big for him. maybe he will carry his punch up with him to the higher weights but top rank shoud be careful how they match him early because another loss now may destroy his confidence.

Pavlik goes nowhere fast at 175. At 168 he could still be effective. But everyone is still tied up in the super 6 right now except Bute and Steiglitz. If he could get a shot at one of them, go for it. I'd be surprised if he don't target the Sergio rematch first though.

I agree he likely wont be as effective at higher weights. Plus at 168 he would have a hard time even being top 6 in the division.

But there could be some interesting fights for Martinez now.

Oddly enough, for some reason I can see Pavlik doing great at 175. I know Dawson, Pascal, Cloud are in that weight class and are good fighters but I don't know how Dawson will do against Pavliks pressure. I mean Johnson is a bit past it in their second fight, but there first fight he was giving Dawson all he could handle.

Pavlik's career as a top fighter might be over. 168 is loaded with talent. He'd be in good fights with AA and Froch, but they are tied up for another year. Bute is a nightmare for him. Ward and Dirrell too. There's really no one for him to fight

i agree i think he would do better at 175 then 168 if his punch comes up with him he would be a danger to all those guys you mentioned.

Ill reserve judgment till I see him at the weight. He has the tools if he still has the confidence and desire.

I think bute beats him but he should be at least competitive at the weight.
