Tarver wearing Jones shoes

As much tension as there is between Tarver and Jones, I would be curious to hear Antonio comment as to why he was wearing Jones boxing shoes during the fight.

Despite saying otherwise at times out of spite and wanting to hype a fight, Tarver is very fond of Jones and has a lot of respect for him as a fighter overall.

And so he should. The more he respects Roy and recognizes his greatness, the better his victory over him is.

i believe johnson was wearing roy jones shoes for his 1st fight with tarver. I guess waht we see on tv is different then what happens in real life. Maybe they are friends? heck toney gave roy jones props before he faught ruiz

I am under the same impression. I remember Tarver making that clear to Roy in the ring after their 2nd fight. Just like Jones with Hopkins and Toney, I think the respect is mutual.

I think he just wore the shoes I doubt there was reason behind it. Possibly to get Roy's attention, but I doubt it.

Right it might not have anything to do with Roy. Roy was just endorsing the Jordan brand.

So what quit reading between the lines, I highly doubt it means anything. Many boxers choose to wear the Jordan boxing shoes.
