Ike Quartey vs. Fernando Vargas 2

I still believe this is an interesting fight, some six years later. I don't know I'd pick but I'd be interested to see this on HBO BAD.

Anybody else interested in this match up?

Right now based on thier last fights I would say Quartey by decision. He looked far more better than Vargas did.

Except for the point that he got dropped... Quartey was missing his awesome jab for most of the fight. I think Vargas wins because of the same reason last time, he has faster hands. (and a better chin)

I thnk it would be interesting to watch if they both get a couple more wins under their belts and get more confidence, but i'd still go with vargas by ud although would expect to see both dropped

Ike is farr better than Vargas at this point...Ike still has some skills..if he gets some confidence then he might be able to be a champ at 154 when winky leaves and if Ouma dont win them all

I agree i think ike would beat vargas. Vargas is now fat and slow and he is becoming a more defensive fighter. Ike is very fast and relentless and i dont believe that vargas would be able to withstand the assault. Now if vargas was more offensive i think he might have a chance but hes just not the fighter he used to be.

did you even see the fight? quartey looked good after he shook off the ring rust. He just needs to get hit alittle more to get use to being hit

to be honest no i didn't, but from what i've heard, it was a close fight, he edged him, and was also dropped. philips is not a HUGE power puncher, he has like 25 KO's in 38 wins, which is decent, but not great. we all know vargas for his power, which is why i stick with vargas
