Manny is the better known fighter or 'more famous' boxer worldwide I guess, but in order to truly transcend the sport they need to fight each other so I guess you could say they need each other. If they do fight, the buzz it will create will elevate them, name wise,to the worldwide stature within the wider publics consciousness to the likes of Leonard,Hagler,Hearns,Tyson etc.

US- tough one, probably floyd, but pac isn't so far behind.

      whole world- definitely pacquiao.
      couldn't agree less.
I didnt even know who this pacquiaou guy was until he refused to fight Floyd because he didnt want to take a steroids test. Is this a serious question? Isnt he just some guy who got some gift decisions and was lucky enough to be offered a fight by the great one and then turned it down because of possible rampant and abundant steroid abuse? Floyds the face of boxing, cleaning up the sport. I dont even know anything about this Pacman guy except that I hear from Paulie Malignaggi, a man who has never lied to me, that he is on hardcore steroids.

lol. paulie and floyd are the only boxers u know?

lets just say it this way. manny is known for another thing.
and mayweather is also known for another thing.

        both are popular.

        but pac is more influential.

            floyd consistently sells more PPV's

more people in america know who he is than who pac is. Floyd is the bigger star.

Who has the PPV record? Floyd does. *******s will say thats because DLH brought in the numbers but they conveniently forget that Pac also fought DLH and didnt bring in anywhere near what Floyd did.

Pac has been listed as one of the most influential people in the whole world...

Floyd may be more popular for boxing purists but I'm pretty sure that pac is more popular across the globe....

Floyd is the biggest star of the two. He should also be the fighter of the decade as he dominated more in the course of the entire decade.

pac-dlh numbers and floyd-dlh numbers shouldn't be compared at the first place. it's unfair.

Pacquiao for me. If it's just within boxing then Floyd has the numbers on his side but in terms of being a star on a across the globe it's Pacquiao. All Floyd has is boxing, outside of that he hasn't pierced into public conciousness at least not in a very positive way or in a way which entices different forms of entertainment/media to take interest. No endorsements that I can think of, the only thing I saw him on that wasn't boxing related was the WWE.

Pacquiao on the other hand not only draws big in PPV numbers, he sells out a stadium against an opponent with practically zero fanbase, he has endorsement deals with Nike which reaches out to a far bigger audience than the one boxing offers Has been listed on many a broadcast media and news magazines in lists for most influential people in the world, and has numerous accolades within the boxing community including fighter of the decade.
