Barry mcguigans analysis of mike tyson before the mcbride fight

Ex boxer and boxing pundit barry mcguigan felt that tyson would dispatch of mcbride easily before the mcbride tyson fight . He said that mcbride was too slow and that tyson had too much speed and power . Mcguigan also said that tyson still had enough speed and power to become undisputed champ provided that he trained properly and gets back to his old peek a boo style . I agree with mcguigan that tyson still has the speed and power to slay any fighter in the division including vitali but mike dosent have the mind set to do it . The body is able but the mind isnt willing to do it . Dose anyone agree ? .

McGuigan is the former WBA feather champ, beat Eusebio Pedroza in '85' and lost it a year later to Stevie Cruz.
I agreed with Barry's comments about Tyson beating McBride but I don't think I remember him saying all that stuff about Tyson getting back to the top etc. he seems to think he's as finished as most people do.

He did say it . He said on the sky sports site . He has a section on that site called email barry or something . A guy asked if tyson would beat mcbride and if tyson could regain the titles and rule the division and mcguigan said that tyson would easily beat mcbride and that the heavyweight division was really week and if tyson really wants it that he could become heavyweight champ and beat vitali and ruiz and all those pretenders . Go to the sky sports site if you dont believe me .

No problem bud it just didn't sound like something McGuigan would say and I'm sure he would probably change his mind on the subject after seeing how bad Tyson was, not much speed, not much power so all he is is a short guy with a big rep.

McGuigan was extremely respectful on Tuesday Night fights regarding his comments on that fight. He didn't **** on Tyson like a lot of guys have...he acknowledged that Tyson was at the end of the road and said a few words about it and moved on. McGuigan seems like one of the good guys.
