The only thing I really see in retrospect, is Floyd sustaining punishment in an effective manner. There are many people on this forum who claim that Once Gatti catches him: its over. I dont buy that. Emannuel Augustus hit him with the kitchen sink,

although I am not saying Augustus hits as hard as Gatti, he landed some really flush shots on him when he was in the corner, and Floyd showed his metal in that fight more than ANY fight he has ever been in. I only use that point as reference, because few have seen the fight, and saw the courage Floyd displayed at some points. Call it crazy, but he did. I think he stands in the pocket and makes Gatti miss dearly.

And I would also like to add:

Gatti is a man. He will absorb punishment, and continue to fight his gameplan despite being beaten bloody. He will go out on his feet like Robinson/Lamotta.

True, I aint sayin Gatti is gonna have a easy night..

Most likely Mayweather is gonna win, but this is boxing and anything can happen

so I'm gonna put a lil bit of $$ on Gatti but not much

I Dont like either Mayweather or Gatti(I actually hate them both).I'm sporting the av/sig to jinx PBF.Ya see,the last three fighters that i've sported Av/Sigs of(Pac,JLc,Glen),all LOST.So maybe, just maybe it'l work with Mayweather,so Gatti can atleast punish him and bring his big head down to earth.

I hope Gatti wins, but I would bet my money on Floyd. He makes the sport look like **** but he will win. Maybe, for boxing's sake, he will finally fight someone who can run as fast as he can soon. I wouldn't call Mayweather a ***** in general because he is a fighter and deserves respect, but he runs in the ring like no other. He fights like he is always trying to win on points. To boxing purists that si honorable but to mainstream fans it is boring ****in garbage and that is why boxing is so unpopular today. It's a proven fact.

About 3-4 years back when no one was on the Mayweather bandwagon, Mayweather was very quiet, soft spoken, and polite. I guess Don King thought, like he does with all his fighters, I need a some more to market. He came up with Pretty Boy moniker and this gansta rapper persona. Watch most Don King fighters and the guys always trash talking etc for promotion. The original was Ali, then tyson, mayorga. Even Holyfield did it. It's all about hype and bring more buyers. I think it worked because man it got people's attention.

but ali brought frazier's personal life into it. He called him an uncle tom figure and said that he was catering to white america. If you think that racism wasn't a worse insult then than alcoholism and domestic abuse you're wrong. Frazier and Ali weren't able to reconcile til years after their fights. you can't hold anything against mayweather for trashtalking. Hopkins, Jones, and all the other greats did it very effectively. Even sugar ray leonard, the most publicly friendly guy, had some nasty things to say when he fought duran. Oscar and vargas talked **** also, but it was only to hype the fight. Would jones and tarver be such a huge event if Tarver hadn't said that awesome quotation at the staredown of the second fight? Trash talking builds drama, which builds ticket sales, which are good for the sport. that's how I see the whole thing

Did anyone see the Gatti interview Saturday?

I thought he was speaking slowly, almost sounded punch drunk. Anyone else catch that?

hey man it's cool. I am amazed by the level of sportsmanship that hatton and Kostya showed and also Gatti and Ward had between the two. I can appreciate that there are some great sportsmen in boxing who have respect for each other, but at the same time i'm not so naive to believe that every fighter can be that way. I don't condone the trash talking, but I accept that the fighters don't all have to be saints.

Bringing up tyson, he once said that to be the champion of the world you have to be the best liar in the world, in order to convince yourself that you are the best. Whenever i see him trashtalk, it always sounds like a little kid covering up insecurity issues. I'm sure Floyd is the same way, cause he's frustrated at being overlooked by what he thinks is a lesser fighter.

My stance on trash talking has nothing to do with whether I think Tyson can come back, which I don't, and whether professional wrestling is a sport, which it isn't.
