  • Comments Thread For: Nashiro-Cazares, Williams-Cintron: The Post-Report Card

By Cliff Rold - Sometimes, it’s just one of those nights. Marlon Starling-Tomas Malinares with its late punch and injured stem? One of those nights. Lennox Lewis-Oliver McCall II? A special one of those nights.

Paul Williams-Kermit Cintron entered such company on Saturday and left fans wanting more. More is only a YouTube away.

On the same Saturday that a tangle of legs led to Cintron falling out of the ring in round four and being stretchered out, two 115 lb. warriors went all twelve rounds in Japan. For Hugo Cazares and Nobuo Nashiro, it was one of those days as well. [Click Here To Read More]

Solid report as always by Mr. Rold. If there is a Nashiro-Cazares 3, hope it's in U.S. or Mexico and on HBO or Showtime. Nashiro has never fought outside of Japan, so he might not go for that, but I'd like to see these two on one of the big networks because the first two fights were really good.

Yeah, this is the best rivalry the world ain't seeing right now. Personally, I'd prefer Cazares-Darchinyan for now. Cazares has earned the right to be seen as Vic's top contender with the wins over Nashiro and Vasquez. That's a savage fight.

I really like that fight but Cazares being so open because of his aggressive style is going to run into a left hand from hell I have the feeling.

What if he can take it? At 115, he's at the right size for his body and he's got an Erik Morales like style of going ape when he's caught. It's just a war on paper.

If he can take it, it's going to be great.

I think Vic gets discouraged when his bombs aren't having the intended effect.
