This is what I thought happened too. I mean from the beginning it didn't look like his momentum propelled him out of the ring like he did. I don't think he did it on purpose or anything to quit, but it was weird how it looked like he jumped himself out of the ring.
He should have just gotten up right away to prove he could fight. Or at least go to a knee.
Apparently after the jump he had the wind knocked out of him so he couldn't get up right away.
