Marvin Frazier on fighting Larry Holmes (Interview)

Shout-out goes out to Rooster for uploading it.

Marvis lost two of his biggest fights against ATG. He was still a decent fighter in my perspective.

Frazier with the little experiance in the pros he had, was a world class boxer. He was small and could have made the cruiserweight division easily. Unfortunitely no matter how good you are, if you weigh only 200lbs, you are not going to beat bigger guys with the skills of Holmes and Tyson.

I def agree with this, he had the skill and size to make it in the cruiserweight division. Throughout his career he only barely made the 200pound limit. He did do a pretty decent job up until the point he faced Tyson and Holmes. Wonder if it was Joe who pressured him to make in the HW division or the pride he mentioned of being able to bring the HW belt back home.

I'm amazed he got up from the first knockdown in the holmes fight

He had heart and guts, the greats he faced just had too much power.

Man that was touching. (no ****) I'm the same way with my father. It's always a struggle to win his approval. Marvis seems like a real dude.

Just for the record Marvis didn't fight for the championship against Holmes. At least not in an alphabet sense. The fight was rightly viewed as a total mismatch and poor Marvis just wanted to be like his dad. He even wore the same tasteless trousers as Joe wore for the first Ali-fight. Yeah. Poor Marvis was brought up to be something that he never had the talent to achieve. All he had was a last name and his great dad in the corner.
