Incredible how people find tons of fault in Williams. He just cant win...
Everyone knew about Cintron's right hand power, so all Williams did was feel Cintron out and get an idea of his timing/power/speed. If you noticed, Williams was actually closing the distance between he and Cintron in the first 3 rounds, and in the 4th round, before Cintron practiced his stop, drop and roll maneuvers, Williams started to land punches. Yall act like Williams was getting murdered in the ring with hooks, uppercuts and rights. I saw some good jabs from Cintron and one right hand. Nothing devestating at all to where Cintron "exposed" Williams.
Last i checked, avoiding power, closing distance and trying to box instead of throwing 10000000+ punches all haywire is actually rather smart. He did what everyone (from what I read on these threads) thought he should do, avoid Cintron's power and implement his gameplan. No one ever said that it had to be pretty a' la Mayweather. The biggest travesty is that Cintron somehow became the "robbed" in this fight. Martinez was definitely robbed against Cintron. Highway robbbery.
Had this been ANY other fighter using the SAME gameplan as Williams (i.e. Martinez, Mayweather, ect), they would have been praised for fighting "smart" early on by the HBO analysts. But because P-Will gets hit alot and has an open defensive style (which we all knew anyway) the minute he gets hit, he must be losing lol. gtfoh.
