I just saw the fight today, it was no more than a sparring match. It sickens me to think Marg gets a shot at Pacman after a fight like that. Garcia was game, he just don't have the ability to do nothing.

Margarito threw alot of punches (from alot of differnent angles), boxed well, but didn't seem to have a lot of 'zip' or weight on his punches. Garcia was hit with numerous clean punches but his face was clean as it was before the fight.

I agree that Margarito should have at least one more tuneup before Arum puts him in with Pac. The Margarito that fought tonight gets brutalized and then KO'd by Manny within 7 rounds...

Yeah either Garcia has a really good chin or Margarito isnt as effective at 154.

I think people are giving him too much praise though, that Garcia was pretty awful

Garcia came in weighing 170lbs on fight night and didn't expect to be put on his ass with a single punch in the first round. He clearly lost his confidence after that round. Margo obviously is not bulking up too much because he fully expects to fight again at 147 so he probably gave away significant weight to Garcia, a guy that has never been stopped or knocked down before that night.

He was toying with Garcia and working on his lateral and head movement. He was told to not go for the knockout and go rounds with Garcia by his corner to shake off the rust from a long layoff.
