Top Rank (1.2mil) vs. GBP (est. 1.2mil) -> who wins?

So Top Rank had its two biggest stars go at it......Pacquiao vs. Cotto....and GBP had its two biggest guns go at it....Mayweather vs. Mosley.

Both did (although awaiting final #s for May/Mosley) 1.2 million buys.....which in the REAL WORLD is considered a great success. BUT there are those out there that love to throw PPV buys out there like they get a cut of that pie or their favorite fighter slides them some of that "under the table".....

My question is this.....considering GBP threw out there, Superbowl Promotions, some commercials that got some prime time TV play, a great 24/7 series and without a doubt...the 2 biggest American fighters on the biggest stage....does Mayweather indeed deserve to demand a higher split IF a fight with Pacquiao is made?

Pac/Cotto did what some might say "decent numbers"...yet many called their 24/7 "boring".....and factor in it was 2 "foreigners".

My opinion....everything should be as it was negotiating wise regarding the Mayweather / Pacquiao fight.....they might as well just pick up where they left off....what's that mediator doing right now?????

P.S - Love the ESPN commercial with Brian Kenny and Floyd hitting the bag.

IMO, nobody wins. Unless the biggest guy from each promotional company fight each other...nobody wins. Saying Top Rank won or GBP won is just adding more **** talk to an already huge piece of ****.

If Pacquiao/Mayweather actually happens, and breaks all records, it will be because of the power of the casuals. Let's face it, casuals prefer watching Pac fight, and it's obvious that casuals boxing fans are the majority, which means Pac is without a doubt the biggest draw in boxing. Mayweather needs to accept at most a 50/50. I think it would be fair for Pac to demand 55/45, but whatever works as long as the fight happens.

Excellent point. Its great when normal people throw logic out there....

Yet when the "wars" (tards vs. *****s) begin....it is very comcial what gets brought up....and the threads I read about PPV success are so biased (usually from the *****s) that whenever there is a REAL thread....you hardly see them (both sides).....

            Lets keep this one going!

This is something that I've been saying since jump.....the real fans and die hard boxing pundits are only a fraction of the PPV sales....the "casual" fans are the ones who are responsible for driving the sales thru the roof.

              50/50 split is definately fair.....
