With the hope of doing 4 million PPV; the 24/7, unprecedented promotion, and advertising, HBO and Golden Boy probably lost money...

If the HBO-released number is 1.4 million or higher, the haters will claim it is exaggerated. They want believe it is 1.1 million and they are going to believe that regardless of what anyone says. If the number was 2 million, they would complain that it didn't do 3 million as Richard Schaffer predicted. If the number was 3 million, they would complain that it didn't do 4 million as Schaffer mentioned. They will not accept anything positive about Mayweather. Some of them are still denying that Mayweather/Marquez did 1 million buys.

Time-Warner (which owns HBO) is a publicly traded company, therefore any false or misleading information regarding earnings that could potentially affect the stock price would be a serious SEC violation (remember Enron?). I sincerely doubt that Time Warner/HBO would risk a full SEC inquiry just to satisfy Floyd's ego.................

And movie theater sales would count in the closed-circuit revenue, not the ppv revenue........

are you still spreading false numbers? puerto rico did not generate 600,000 buys alone, it was a little over 100,000, which is basically almost all of the tv sets in puerto rico...i dont believe puerto rico have 600,000 tv sets.

here is a fact:

puerto rico has a population of less than 5 million
phillipines has a population of close to 100 million

if there was a buy rate for the phillipines, im sure it would be more for pacquiao than what puerto rico generated for cotto...but being that the philippines isnt part of the U.S. or its territories (puerto rico is a u.s. teritory), the philippines is not part of the U.S. PPV numbers
