    Roach: Mayweather would be easy

    Mayweather would be easy
Roach predicts KO win for Manny
    By NICK GIONGCO
    May 8, 2010, 7:12pm

Floyd Mayweather is going to be easy pickings for Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino fighter’s trainer Freddie Roach said Saturday from Los Angeles.

“Easy (fight),” Roach said when asked about what he sees in his crystal ball once Pacquiao and Mayweather finally get it on. “Manny’s going to knock him out.”

Roach kept on saying “easy” during the course of the long-distance interview, sounding supremely confident that Pacquiao would hardly encounter any problem cracking Mayweather, a puzzle that has remained unsolved after over 40 fights the last 14 years.

“He couldn’t move, he’s got no more legs,” Roach observed, citing that Mayweather was no longer as nimble as he used to be.

But to a lot of ringsiders, Mayweather was magnificent in his latest outing – a masterful 12-round unanimous decision victory over Shane Mosley – a win that propelled the trash-talking Detroit native back on top of the pound-for-pound rankings.

Even oddsmakers have installed Mayweather as the favorite against Pacquiao in the event the two premier punchers face off before the year comes to a close.

Sportsbook lists Mayweather as -150, while Pacquiao is +120.

Under this scheme, a $150 bet on Mayweather wins $100, while a $100 bet on Pacquiao wins $120. Still, Roach is convinced there’s no way Mayweather – based on his latest performance –would pose problems for somebody like Pacquiao.

“Manny’s going to hit him from every angle,” said Roach.

Once again, Roach couldn’t help but utter the word that kept on hovering during the conversation.

I really doubt it, Floyd will likely be the toughest fight of Pacquiao's career. And maybe like wise for Floyd.

But we all know Freddie is just talking ****, the build up for this fight will be crazy...

    Hoping it happens.

Roach is sounding fake. Sounding like he's trying to be like Floyd. Floyd always says "easy work", now Roach is riding it

        as he usually does ?

but it could acutally be a good thing
if he keeps fighting like this ...

Roach changes his mind every 5 minutes, hes a great coach and all, but all these people keep saying he gets his prediction spot on... but that's because he makes like 10 predictions before the fight and then people scream about it when one of them was right.

The man is lacks consistency. One minute it's the hardest fight of Manny's career, the next minute it is easy.
            ___________

Also what people don't realise is that if Mayweather didn't walk Mosley down he would have stayed in the fight due to belief that if he could just catch Mayweather he could flatten him.

It was necessary for Mayweather to beat that belief out of him.

still, I dont hate though. Roach knows his **** and I believe he thinks he genuinely see's flaws in Floyd and see's the age in him. I think he feels its getting harder for Floyd to dodge shots and with Pac's speed, youth, and Southpaw style, he can get to him where others couldnt. Thats why the fight will be so interesting

He wanted to prove a point, and stop people from calling him a runner and all that. He wanted to batter Shane to prove a point, that is why he stood infront of him and fought more.

LOL wasn't he just talking about how it will be very hard to come up with a game plan to fight Floyd, and he wants Floyd because he's the best fighter? Freddie confuses me...I wouldn't be surprised if his prediction of Khan-Malignaggi changes to 8th round TKO.

And Floyd's legs are not gone. Steve Forbes and Floyd's other sparring partner were just talking about how challenging it was to hit Floyd because of his footwork, despite setting up traps. He fought that way to show everyone that he could stand and fight. Are his legs the same as they were during his Super Featherweight days? Hell no. But they're certainly not gone.
