the future at 140-154?what happens after mayweather-pacquiao?

floyd and manny are 33 and 31 last time i checked.they will have nothing to prove once the fight is done.they (with some help)cleaned out 147.cotto said 10 will be his last year in boxing.shane is 38.margaritos future is a??????i think we will see some interesting matchups in the next couple years in these weigh classes.

at 140,i think it will come down to bradley vs. alexander (if bradley doesnt move up to 147).i also want to see victor ortiz, khan and maidana fight each other (maidana vs ortiz 2 also).i wouldnt be surprised if bradley and alexander end up at 147

at 147,i think cotto-berto would be a war (depending on how cotto looks vs foreman and if he wants to keep fighting).berto-canelo look like the current future at 147(its a little too early for canelo right now)and would also be a war in about 2 years (if canelo stays at 147).i also want to see vyacheslav senchenko fight.floyd, manny shane cleaned the division imo so its wide open once floyd-pac is done.

i think the wild cards here are paul williams and sergio martinez.it was confirmed that he is 6 3 and he wants a piece of floyd and manny.he says he can make 147.martinez is red hot right now and theres been talk of him fighting floyd.

at 154,if foreman gets by cotto,he could be the frontrunner.i think he could step it up and fight angulo until james kirkland gets out,and then all hell breaks loose.

there are a lot of GOOD fighters i left out because i wanted to talk about the young guys coming up.

what do you guys think of these matchups?lets hear yours.discuss

The 140 division is stacked with talent. That is the weight class to keep an eye on for the next few years. Any of the top 140 pounders going against eachother will be entertaining. As for 147, Berto is obviously the future once he is really challenged. Canelo still needs time to develop. He moves more like a 154lber.

I don't think Foreman can get past Cotto. I think Cotto can break him down, Foreman doesnt really have the experience to deal with someone of Cotto's caliber. Sure this isn't the same Cotto from before but he still has some fight left in him, and he has something to prove. I don't know how long Cotto could reign supreme at 154. Martinez and Williams could both beat him.

There is still a lot of exciting matchups after Floyd-Manny. I personally don't even find that matchup all that intriguing. But as far as the casual fans (manny only fans) go, that is the fight everyone wants. Williams, Bradley, Angulo, Ortiz, Alexander, Canelo, Berto... the future of boxing is in good hands I think.
