He's good in studio but as a commentator? Don't know. I really like Tarver on Showtime. I really don't know of any former fighters who I would want in that role besides Tarver. The only commentator I really like that isn't on HBO or Showtime right now who I would like to see at HBO would be Doug Fischer (who is hated here by many)...

No thanks. He hasn't accomplished enough to have any real credibility. It also remains to be seen if he can react well spontaneously to live action rather than planned studio commentary.

^This^. Unless he wants to fight a top fighter, keep him off of my screen, let alone hold a position that fighters the level of Foreman, Jones Jr., and Lewis have held.

It might sound absurd, but I would at least screen Tyson to see if he can get the job done. Really... There aren't many that can do worse than Lennox did.

SRL might be a good option too, since HBO obviously wants an analyst with a certain level of fame.

Tyson would be risky, but there is a lot of upside to using him too. He was popular enough to get people to tune in just to hear what he says.

Leonard already did this on HBO for awhile. Personally I think he was better than every fighter who followed him.

Maybe Flores would be good, but he doesn't have enough fighting experience and he's not famous enough, as others have stated.

What's the big deal about him not being a hall of famer or something. He's eloquent, well spoken, and seems to be very knowledgeable. He would do fine.

There is not much difference between him and say a Jon Barry, Marc Jackson, Jay Williams in basketball commentary.

Yeah, Tyson's risk/reward would have to be factored in. Tyson seems to be sobering up and staying sane, a lot of people would tune in to see and hear Mike analyze fights.

Leonard as an analyst has been underrated, they should call him back and give him the job if he wants it.
