HBO turned this fight down for March 13th. They have absolutely no reason to accept it now.

That was a lie. Floyd never showed any interest in Matt Hatton. However he did show interest in Paulie Malignaggi, and HBO accepted that fight over Pacquiao-Clottey (or was it Foreman?). But no agreement was made because Floyd decided to go after the Mosley-Berto winner for a May date instead, and HBO declined the March 13th date for Floyd because they were taking too long. That's when Berto pulled out and Mayweather-Mosley was negotiated.Comment

And Schaefer gave one immediately afterwards, saying they did not contact him or Campbell's team. The only person Floyd's camp reached out to was Paulie, as reported by BoxingScene (thanks to jrosales for showing this to me). But I'm guessing Floyd wasn't very interested because they didn't talk for long, and other opponents such as Cintron were mentioned afterwards (however they did not reach out to Cintron's camp). But by then it was too late to sign for the March 13th date, so Floyd decided to wait for the Mosley-Berto winner. I'm sure we all know what happened from there.Comment
