Gotta Admit, Bob Arum is great for boxing

I love Top Rank. I don't care what anybody says. Everybody hates on him but there is no other promotional company better for the sport than Top Rank.

I thought bringing a megastar like Pacquiao to a venue like Cowboy Stadium was brilliant.

My biggest knock on Arum is ****ty undercards and too many in-house fights.

That only works when you put on a competitive fight.

Gary Shaw, Ahmet Ohner and Lou DiBella are very decent men to name a few

Arum is very calculated in his approach to boxing and many sources over the years have caused people to believe he truly is in the sport for self gain

He is milking whatever buzz his star fighters have left because hes pushing 80 and some of his fighters get preferential treatment

For example: Kendall Holt and Lamont Peterson barely got promoted while Donaire's and Gamboa's last couple of fights against tomato cans get lots of media coverage

Because, all the other promoters do not really promote their fightes. If they can't get TV money then they would bring money out of their pocket to keep their fighters in the public eye.

Say what you want about Arum. But, he is willing to go in his pocket to make sure his fighters stay relevant, stay in the public, keeping them active. He don't depend on TV money.

He is the last real promoter left. He knows how to build up a star and he can develop a fanbase.

I tell you other underrated promotional companies who are not big name but are very good. Thompson boxing promotions, TKO promotions, and Prizefight promotions. Those are very top not promotional companies who are not as big name as Shaw or Dibella. But, IMO do a better job as a promotional company. They know how to build up stars and fan bases. Again real promotional companies.
