Paul Williams and Malignaggi are on the cusp of stardom.

I got P.Will by late stoppage, but there's no way Paulie is beating Khan. The Paulie I saw in the Diaz fight was not much different than the one I saw in the Hatton fight. Just imagine if Diaz was a JWW. It would have almost been identical to that fight. Paulie struggles against fighters with power who can put pressure on him for 12 rounds. For a slick fighter he has poor punch resistance (Diaz and Hatton hit him way too much. Again, imagine if there was power behind those punches). And then comes Khan, a fighter who can not only match Paulie's handspeed but has better defense, much more power and can box and brawl. He also has one of the best strategists in his corner. I'm looking forward to seeing how Roach does when preparing one of his fighters for a slick boxer.Last edited by BoxerDood; 05-08-2010, 11:09 AM.Comment

Williams is never gonna be mainstream because he doesn't get the support from Americans. He doesn't sell well.Williams is quietly building up a solid resume. Hes quietly working his way up the Pound for Pound Lists as well. Almost every publication with a list has him top 3-5. Hes taking tough fights and wants tough fights. He has an exciting style and a funny personality.
His fight with Cintron is being shown on the Floyd-Mosley replay so he will get alot of much needed exposure and Cintron is a guy he can look GREAT against rather then as of late when matched with tricky lefties like Quintana and Martinez.Id love to see him in a 24/7 so I can get a look at his training, eating habits to see how he has that stamina and how a guy that big always makes weight with pounds to spare. A look on his everyday life like with all the other 24/7 fighters would be cool too.
Malignaggi is coming off a good win vs. Diaz where he just schooled him and even hurt him. He was blazing fast, his jab was pumping, his footwork was great and he had a great gameplan. He has a big chance against Khan in IMO the biggest fight of his career. I know he fought Hatton and Cotto before but its now or never for Paulie. Khan is a guy he has to beat or atleast he has to drag Khan to hell and back. Paulie is all heart so I can see him doing that.
The dude runs his mouth non stop and is pretty funny AND annoying which also helps him out. Just like with Floyd haters will always root for you too lose and the fans will want you to win. He has the hand speed, the experience, the jab, the style and footwork to make Khan look silly. Khan is fast and powerful but hes young, green, and immature and seems to be up to alot more then just training. Hes getting alot of negative press as of late. He also might be overlooking Paulie. This is the best fighter by a country mile that Khan would have been in the ring with. Paulie has the chance to beat him grab a belt and make himself a big star. Especially with the 140 Pound Division heating up. He could fight Alexander, Maidana, Ortiz or Bradley.
Would love to see a 24/7 on him as well. It would be mad entertaining.
Paulie will never because he can't actually punch. Also Khan will beat him.Comment

If Williams wins I would say he is on his way. THis fight should be good for him since the Mayweather replay is on right before. Malignaggi is possible but not as much, especially with this fight since he is fighting Khan who was never fought here. He also doesn't have a big punch which turns some people off and he is a ****y guido. If Malignaggi wins this should set him up for all kinds of big fights at 140 and then he might start becoming a star.Comment
