Are People Going Overboard With Floyd Fighting Martinez?

1st of all you have probably heard me say since Martinez really stepped on the big stage that I think he is the easiest of all the big fights for Floyd because I think even though Floyd is smaller, he would walk him down and catch him all night with his hands low. Since then Sergio has looked more elite but I still think Floyd gets the job done. Either way, thats not what the topic is about.

The topic is about people overreacting to what Floyd said. Its not like Floyd called him out or has ever brought his name up at all. It was just after the Mosley fight and he was saying like anything is a possibilty. Then the reporter asked him if Martinez is and Floyd said Yes but the way he said it makes me think he just meant Yes, like anything is possible. Basically, I think Floyd wouldve said the same about any fighter that they wouldve asked him about.

Now dont get me wrong. I wouldnt be shocked at all if Floyd chose him because I think he feels that he can beat that style, that no one can beat him with there hands down, and he wants to say he was a MW Champ. Still, I dont think nothing he has said so far makes that claim serious in any way or that he's leaning towards Sergio. I think he's just looking at all options.

Part of me thinks he wants to go up and work his way down. Like go up to 160 for 1 fight, then 154 for 1 fight, then back to WW to fight Pac and stay at WW or retire. Then the other part of me thinks he wants to work his way up like 1 fight with Pac, then 154 for 1 fight, then try to finish it off with a MW title maybe.

Either way I just think everyone is running with this Floyd-Martinez story when Floyd really didnt even say anything. I think he was just going off of what the reporter was saying and that anything is possible. Some of it also was just to say that he doesnt need Pac and has other options

It's hardly even worth discussing IMO. We know he's only interested in high-profile fighters that are going to generate a lot of money. Who the hell is Martinez? A good fighter, yes, but hardly household name it's too much of a high risk/low reward fight.

IDK about that. Yes thats what Martinez is but if they make this fight then there will be a ton of experts either picking Martinez to win or atleast to give Floyd hell. That automatically will make the public wonder who he is. Then when they see him, it could be like another Oscar. He has the looks and he stands for all the right things. Plus he's basically white. That **** could sell big if marketed right
