Need for Changes in the Sport of Boxing Petition to Senator John McCain

BELIVE IN THIS MOVEMENT!! KARMA FOR THOSE THAT SUPPORT
What has Andrew Golota done to deserve three shots at the various championship belts in the last few years?
    · How is it that the former interim WBC Junior Welterweight champion Castillejo never actually won his title in the ring?

They fixing Baseball, now make them fix Boxing.

I believe that most boxers have the desire to do just that but few actually get the opportunity. It is for good reason that many boxers say they love the sport but hate the business. It is about time we reevaluate the priorities of boxing in general and take a careful look at how the business side of it runs. Because at least for the near future the business side will continue to influence the purity of the sport itself, and we just cannot let that happen.

318 Signatures Total, sign up everybody, just 2 min of your time.
If you agree with me and would like to bring about change in the sport of boxing, please sign
    THIS PETITION !!!!
Remember, there is strength in numbers, so please circulate the petition. Thank you!

So, you guys have a better idea, than just posting on a boxing site complaining about boxing? I've gotten 1,837 posts, and nothing, I'm a boxing fan, I'm listening...if I had started this since Dec, lets say 5 signatures a day, that would come out 1500 in a month, 6 months that would be 9000, me by myself (if I did the math right), if I try, and thats a minum possiblity, say 6 of you were to help, that'd be 54,000, even 30,000 would be nice, from last night it jumped from 318 to 328, thats ten signatures, 1 day, I use to pass flyers out, as a kid.

I just put threads up in boxrec, insider, and boxing....talk, nothing to lose.
I posted some ideas on an identical thread weeks ago, which kind of outlined a "federation" of the top fighters in each division who would have to apply to be ranked, with the top fighters receiving yearly invites and a pro sports-style league that would determine their rankings and scheduling, independent of a government.

I also stated that the fighters should have a union and at least two of the current alphabet organizations should merge to start this out, but that it should be regulated by a commissioner's office and possibly some outside agencies not affiliated with the government.

It's probably a longshot, too, but is far better than handing this over to the government, which isn't going to happen anyway, even if you got a million Internet signatures, which are hardly legit anyway - have you looked at the list? Some people have answered 'no', and some people have used real boxer names. There's no way to follow up and determine the validity of the people who signed up. For all they know, you could have signed all 300+ up yourself and just inserted different names and states...

No faith Neils, with that kinda attuitude, you wont get anyway, a million signatures would shed light on the problem, Baseball fans got the national attention, so can we, I dont think the government hurt their sport by making them take drug tests, do you? This isnt for them to take control, its for them to take it out the hands of the ones who are killing it.

Therefore, what these organizations have done is alter the meaning of champion to serve their own needs and ambitions. To them, a champion is not necessarily someone who is the best and who has beaten the best. To these organizations, a champion is someone who holds a “championship” belt and little more. Unfortunately, that belt continues to be a much thought after commodity in boxing and until it seizes to hold such importance these organizations will maintain a bulk of their power, continuing to do as they please.

Where the petition began, maybe this will help.

Eggzackly..... the U.S. government can't manage ****. They couldn't run the Post Office. There are horror stories about costs of supplies to the armed forces being inflated 50 times their worth. McCain is not anything special..just a politician willing to jump on any bandwagon that will generate a few votes.
AND..as I've said time and again, boxing is an international sport.
Get a new plan and get back to us.
