The human pipe cleaner and his promoter swear up and down he can make 147 and that it's his natural weight, why not make the lesser guy with no significant LEGITIMATE wins lately or in the division right now any kind of slack?Comment

In any big business deal there is compromise on both sides. Manny will not get 50/50 and a 24-day cut-off. Floyd will not get 60/40 and USADA up until the day of the fight. Both sides have to work this out in private. For all we know, Floyd will agree to 55/45 and a 15-day cut-off. None of us know, and I hope the negotiations remain among the parties and not on the internet until they are finalized. I am optimistic that this fight will happen because Floyd's confidence must be at an all-time high after the Mosley fight. I am no expert but from what I understand from other people I've spoken to, steroids cannot be consumed and then flushed out of the system completely within a 15-day period. I think the build-up and hype surrounding this fight will be the best thing this sport could ask for. Every fighter and boxing fan should want this fight to happen.Comment

I disagree. The only way a Williams fight makes sense to Floyd is if Williams beats Martinez for the titles then a PBF/Williams fight becomes a super fight. With Williams holding the middle-wt/jr.middle wit titles the fight can be made at 155. Floyd is smart enough to come in at a comfortable weight for him and a win would be historic. Other than that a Williams fight doesn't make sense.Comment

People were saying that the fight has to happen and that the fight will happen the first time Floyd and Pac negotiated. Clearly things didn't work out then and I'm not sure how they will get it together now. I do think Arum is right that the negotiations should be private, guys like Floyd and Manny don't want to back down in public which makes it even harder to make a compromise.
Bottom line- I'm not holding my breath for this one.Comment
