Mayweather's fighting style befuddled Mosley. Yeah he got off a few shots, but this is boxing, anyone can be nailed. He didn't do it more than twice though. Which is the object of the game, hit without being hit.

Mosley was reluctant to throw because of fear of being countered. Mosley's fighting style is wild to began with, he likes exchange sloppy heavy punches. Mayweather fighting forward also was something Mosley wasn't expecting. Mayweather stalked him the whole fight.
