The real reason the fight hasn't been made is because Manny's southpaw stance is hell for a Philly shell/shoulder roll fighter. You simply cannot use that defense. The reason Floyd is such an accurate puncher is because the shoulder roll leaves his Orthodox opponents directly in front of his right hand counter (plus hides the punch, making it doubly effective).

Floyd still has all the skill in the world to take Manny to boxing school, but Manny is also a special fighter. A quick, two-hand power in-fighter, punches from sneaky angles, relentless stamina.
The matchup is so interesting, and to me Floyd wins on paper. But that Southpaw stance is the x-factor (as witnessed by JMM's 3 knockdowns). It's Sr's biggest concern.

Manny's entire run these past 10 years, even as a one-handed wild swinger, has come as a result of the Southpaw angles.
And I don't think any knowledgeable boxing fan will deny he has improved dramatically, even if only by improving his accuracy and power of his RIGHT hand (check-hook KD of Hatton is a thing of beauty).
This fight has to happen. Sorry for writing a book =)

Shane doesn't have the same footwork nor does Shane work the angles as good as Manny.

if Floyd and Manny had a foot race...a 100m dash....I would put money on Manny.....if Floyd and Many had to throw a 5 punch combo.....I would bet Manny's time would be faster than Floyd's.....Floyd has NEVER seen a mofo like Manny and vise versa....this fight is gonna be VERY interesting

great post bro, but with that being said.....Manny is shorter in height, shorter reach, easy to counter, a sucker for a right hand and has no defense

floyd is really closer to 5'7 1/2 than 5'8. if you look at floyd's last couple of fights, he doesnt use his legs as much as he used to. he relies a lot more heavily on his shoulder roll hence he goes to the ropes a lot more often. That favors pac. saying pacquiao is a sucker for a right hand is like saying straight men are a sucker for *****. of course, that's the best punch against any southpaw. not just manny. floyd's shoulder roll defense is vulnerable to pac's best punch, the straight left. its the same punch that wobbled floyd vs corley & its one the few clean punches that zab landed on floyd. safe to say pacquiao who is 10x the fighter corley & judah were in their prime could do the same if not better against an older, slower, version of floyd.

Cotto hits harder then Floyd.. Pac will take Floyds punches and come back wit his combos..

Shane was old and gassed out.. Dont make Floyds win over Shane TOOOO much of a big deal now..

Pacman aint old and his workrate is 100x better then Shanes at this point..

I predict a thorough beating by Floyd Mayweather. He just have all the right tools to work Manny over. Only thing I can see Manny doing is trying to go for the KO, because we all know he's not going to outbox Floyd.

Manny stepping into that ring with Mayweather immediately gives the advantage to Mayweather. He'll be the bigger, longer man. Then throw in all the skills. I just see no win for the smaller Manny. Which is why I think this fight will not happen, even though as of late the fight seems to be gaining traction.
