Toney Camp offers to fight Vitali at 60 / 40

I will be very disapointed if Vitali and Toney can not come together and make this fight. It could be a needed boost to the Heavyweight division, Either fighter will be a sold ring mag #1 with a win, and both will be well paid. I dont care what the promoters say about who is ducking who, they both lose respect in my book if they can not get this going.

When's the last time Klitschko fought a live fight? Two years ago when he lost to Lewis.

There's NO REASON he can't fight Toney if he's recovered. Toney came off some serious injuries to fight Ruiz for a title on short notice.

Stop making excuses for him.

Rahman and Barrett are fighting in August, Klitschko wants to fight in September. Toney is not so formidable that he needs to be avoided.

Even your fellow nut huggers agree that if he's getting a 60-40 split there's no reason it can't happen.

He's assuming he'll be available by looking at figthing Maskiev. If Toney is willing to take the split, and it's a bigger money fight, it makes sense in every aspect. Shelly Finkle (VITALI's ADVISOR) even clearly stated the WBC WOULD likely sanction it. That would allow him to take the fight, and would be a more credible opponent than Maskeiv, Rahman, or Barrett.

Interesting... incidentally, Maskaev was originally scheduled to be Danny Williams's first opponent after Tyson, which should have given an indication of whether Williams could mix it at a lower contender level and potentially take on the likes of Ruiz. However, it was abandoned after they got a chance at big money with Vitali.

So Vitali's basically setting up a match with someone who was regarded as a "risky but acceptable" option for a man who he effortlessly outclassed in eight rounds.


Having said all that... by the time this fight gets around Vitali will have been out of the ring for the best part of a year, following injuries. So isn't it reasonable that he has an easy comeback bout?

Here's why. He has a world's title and should only defend it against THE VERY BEST compitition in the world in honour of the sport. He never beaten a real champion and has never defended his title against a "real" number one contender. Ever. He should be stripped if he fights anyone besides Toney, Rahman or one of the other two so called champions of the Heavyweight Division but who knows what politics dictates. The truth is once this guy fights someone in the real top five of the division we have our first true champion since Lennox Lewis holding this belt.
