The arena's are like fighters in that respect: they get more and more esteem as they age, unfortunately they become more and more ***********al til they finally become obsolete.

Dag, you are living the life! Covering fights and stuff. Did you set out to become a boxing writer or did it sorta happen?

its a hobby first and foremaost matye, im not pro as such. Im just a fan.

the site just has taken off tho. Ive had about 70 articles published and covered fights up and down the country.

I started off writing previews for a prediction site and i went fomr there really, your work gets out there and someone contacts you.

Ive been lucky in the fact that the guys behind the BBN are good lads and have become my mates as well.

I did a lot of stuff last year but not so much this year, its finding the time last year i threw myself into it, but also got several bollockings at work so had to back off now.

these days i probs only do an article a month.

But its been great as a fan ive interviewed Hatton calzaghe, met more fighters than i can list and been to more shows in one year than most folk go to in a liftetime, all ringside and all for writing an article. Even got my ugle mug on tv more than a few times.

I have to say though they do take me 3 to 4 hrs to write up thats on top of scribbling all night at the action, takes a hell of a chunk out your life if you let it.

cost me my last girfriend hey,

I'd love to see that the most too, but I think it could only happen if Gatti beats Floyd.

I had HAtton ahead by two points points and thought he fought very well but yes it could have been different in the states...

For 1 had the low blow been called a knockdown then Zoo pulls even on one card and and closes within 1 point on another. The fight was not the domination that many reports made it out to be.

Now that was a judgement call so I should not even have broguht it up...but here is where I saw a difference in venue could have changed things...

Regardless of how people label Zoo (brawler/stalker) he is a controlled fighter who does most of his damage from a distance (Zab/Sharmba). When Ricky and KT fought at a distance the fight was an A level guy vs. a C level guy. HAtton would eat the jab and take a right hand and then get inside...HAtton's chin was awesome but had a referee been more apt to break them up and make them fight at a distance (Jay NAdy) then the fight would have been different...dont kid yourself.

Now that was Burt's take and I thought it was interesting...I saw little wrong with what Hatton did and I feel he deserved the victory...however in terms of fighting at a distance Ricky should never give it a try...he can't fight on the outside, he is a C level fighter when he does.

A fight with Floyd would be interesting because he would smother Floyd...or at least that is what he would have to do to win.

I disagree with Some of Sugar's comments but I also understand exactly how the fight could have been different at distance. Some of that is the referee but most of it in my mind would be Hatton's ability to take a punch and not give a ****.

I just heard a radio interview with him on the BBC and he said that ideally he wants the winner of Gatti vs Mayweather more than anyone else.

You know Tam-Tam? He's an aussie who probably posts on every boxing site there is. He mods a few sites and writes some stuff regarding boxing for "Insidefighting" and I think other sites.
