Guys he could. Whatching the figt once again, i can see Shane had a great gameplan on how to pass Floyd's James Toney style of fighting. Usually Floyd when is in first gear he just stays there, waits for your jab and blocks it with his right, then he waits for your right hand to shoulder roll it and then he counters, right.
But as you can see in the second round Shane does a great job in getting in a lazy jab top the body that opens floyd's guard and then he comes with a textbook right hand that is not as wide as Floyd supposes landing fast and hard on Floyd's chin. Whoever execute this on Floyd surely can pull the trigger.
But then what! Maybe Shane expected Floyd to run around the ring or stay more distant like he often does so he could use that distance to try to overcommit floyd and counter him, or bull rush him, maybe he was expecting Floyd to come in with his Kangaroo hook and had a gameplan for that.
Instead, Floyd stayed right there at a very close distance, the punching distance, almost like challenging Shane in a race...who is quicker Shane me or you?
Thats when Shane you all say couldnt pull the trigger. But he could, he just started being embarassed by moves like this one:

See, when you are a great fighter, with a lot of experience like Shane, and you start getting toyed like this from someone you thought was weaker than you, when you understand how great his technique is and that he can punch you like that and theres nothing you can do about it, you already lost the fight.
Easy from home to see the openings or to see what someone can do. But when youre in there, and feel like youre getting schooled in front of the world, and that everytime you try to set up something BAM you get tagged, you just want to go home.
Add to that the FACT that those are hard shots, not hard to make a man go down but hard enough to fatigue you, make your head feel heavy and your neck stiff up.
