    The reason Floyd got caught

Lack of respect. Floyd wanted to back up his talk about knocking Mosely out. He stood an inch in front of him and caught a hook to the side of the face that buckled his knee. During this time of the fight he was trying to prove that he could beat Shane on the inside. This was a mistake. Floyd can beat anyone if he boxes them but he couldn't stand toe to toe with Tito, or Shane for that matter. Not for the first 4 or 5 rounds anyway. After Floyd got wobbled you see Ellerbe and Roger say to Floyd "Box him" and Floyd shook his head yes and said "OK, OK" Translation-Ok I'm not gonna try and prove anything, I'm just gonna beat this dude the guaranteed way I know how. From that point on he didn't go nose to nose with Shane. He got at his arm length distance and then picked Shane apart, just like he does everyone. At that distance nobody can catch him behind his guard with a hook, and he can block or parry any jab or straight. Then he also can step in and land his stuff and get out of the way when they swing back. From there he lands jabs to set up bigger punches and then he moves closer depending on how bad he hurts you. But moving in as close as he did with a fresh Shane was a dumb move and he paid for it, but he learned a valuable lesson and that is to fight his fight from the opening bell. Its a good lesson to learn with an old Shane. If he got hurt like that agaisnt a prime Shane or Pac now, hed go down. but that won't happen now becasue hopefully he learned hes only unbeatable when he fights his fight, not Tito's fight. Great performance by Floyd by the way.

The reason he got caught is because he took a risk most fighters take and went toe to toe for a change. Mayweather's whole career is about risk aversion and when he finally took one we see clearly why he doesn't take risks.

I don't think he was trying to prove a point, I think it was part of their gameplan. ****m predicted he would do that. Dumb move? possibly but it did make Shane gas out after 2 rounds.
