I disagree. I believe he did have the skills he has now. It didn't magically appear one fight later against the stationary Diaz. Pound for pound, Pacquiao hasn't fought an opponent as good as Marquez since.

I don't know man. Cotto was highly regarded. So was Hatton. But purely boxing skills, I would have to agree.

I can't believe they haven't got this fight done. mayweather mosley was an unforseen mismatch a brilliant mayweather over a tight old mosley...not mayweather's fault mosley turned old. but the only fight that's been there since mayweather came back is pac. i got ripped off on pac clotty and mayweather mosley. i won't watch another pay per view of either one of these fighters until they fight each other....any other opponent for either one of these guys will end up the same a dull blowout that will be sold to us fans pt barnum style.

Dont be a ******* people. What can roach do for manny? Didnt he train oscar to face floyd? Come on...If roach had a game plan Floyd would've lose 3 fights ago. I hate to bring up size but Mayweather is a bigger, faster, stronger WW then Manny. And on top of that his boxing IQ is out this world. He fight on his toes or in a phone booth. Manny can only fight one way & thats reckless and throwing crazy punches. Floyd will jab him cuz he has the longer arms & counter him all night. Floyd wont be open like the mall at 9am the way hatton, cotto, & Oscar was...Floyd has too many weapons...Manny won't fight floyd..all he has to do is agree to the testing and we can get the fight. Thats it...and if Manny does agree to the testing and in his previous fights he was on something...The ass whooping will be that much worst...Im telling u...What does Pac do that good?? the only thing i can think of is that he picks the losers to fight at catch weights...thats about it..

I dont get what you mean by that because Clottey was not a warm up preperation fight for Floyd.....And for like 2 mionths hes been in the philliphines campaigning and not boxing so i dont get how that extra time will help pac prepare

Now, I know he says its because of the 'ear'...supposedly. But c'mon man. It's pretty obvious that Roach watched a highlight clip of Clottey and knew how to beat him. Clottey was pretty much an event in itself...a "thank you" match for all the new Pacquiao fans. Seriously, the stadium got more recognition than the actual substance of the fight. Anyways, he don't need to be boxing. Roach has probably watched HOURS of Mayweather's fights and well most likely be rewinding the **** out of the May-Mosley fight. Also, while this isn't a strong point: during Clottey training, Steve Forbes was brought it to spar with Pac....Forbes has a good defense like Mayweather (not to mention is trained by the May clan) so while it's just a theory, I think its a strong case that Roach has just been preparing for this fight. Manny could have come in at 80% for Cotto and still beaten, Pac needs to come in at 120%, fight the perfect fight against Mayweather...and Roach knows that. I'll admit this fight is the definition of a 'toss up' match but we know what has transpired when Manny fought a defensive counter puncher, twice. Roach has needed to do his homework and he's ready to turn it in.. (sorry I know the preceding statement was cliche up the ass, but I feel like a wannabe journalist so sue me).

If before the fight you would have told anyone that pbf would attack mosley the way he did no one would have believed you! So the same logic could be applied here! Im a fan of boxing and was impressed at the aggresiveness of floyd on sat! He showed his versatility which means that he will mix it up and attack when he needs and use his ring generalship when necessary!! Just like roach says he saw alot of flaws in pbf im sure all real boxing fans have seen flaws in pac aswell. Manny is a beast and throws punches from all different angles without resetting which makes him very dangerous! But in the same token it leaves him wide open and his speed thusfar has been able to enable him to keep this behavior and still win. When he gets in the ring with floyd their speed will be comparable and the very thing which makes manny dangerous could be his undoing!!

If the fight happens which I hope it does remember this post!! Great fight still undecided who has the edge!
