One fight can be enough to make you #1, if it's decisive enough, and if it's against a top contender. That's why Mayweather is ranked #1 now, after only one fight against a Welterweight in the last two years. According to your logic, he shouldn't be #1.

Mosley lost narrowly to Cotto, then had a fight at Jnr Middleweight, then beat Margarito. Pac didn't just beat Cotto, he destroyed Cotto. He got the #1 spot then for exactly the same reason that Mayweather got it now - a decisive near shut-out against a top contender.

How can a man that has beaten the #2 and #3 P4P guys be ranked behind anyone? Specially when the so called #1 only has a controversial win over one P4P guy and avoided matches to change that. Floyd soundly beat the #2 and #3 P4P and challenged Manny too while Manny's claim to fame is beating well picked already conquered fighters. 2 of which were already beaten by Floyd. Manny wanted no part of Marquez, Shane or Floyd. He should've never been P4P#1.
